CONTACT Photography Festival is an annual event in May with well over 1500 Canadian and international artists and photographers exhibiting at more than 175 venues throughout the Greater Toronto Area. Founded as a not-for-profit organization in 1997 and now a charitable organization, the Festival is devoted to celebrating, and fostering the art and profession of photography, through a diverse range of programmes.

Welcome to Toronto’s 22nd edition of the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival. We invite you to experience the Festival by attending the launch party at the Ryerson Image Centre and some of the 200 exhibitions openings and events during the month of May. Learn about photography through our lectures, panels, workshops, and symposium; read and reference the catalogue; and get lost in the city exploring art. Through collaborations with major museums, galleries, and artist-run centres, we are proud to present an outstanding range of photographic and lens-based work in a series of public installations and primary exhibitions across the city.
