The Indigenous Arts Festival @ Fort York celebrates traditional and contemporary music, dance, theatre, storytelling, literature, crafts, and food created by indigenous artists. Energizing the grounds and buildings of Fort York National Historic Site in downtown Toronto with powerful ancient traditions and compelling contemporary creations. Featuring music by legendary blues-rocker Derek Miller, Indigenous Music Awards entertainer of the year & best hip hop artist Drezus, hip hop maestro and champion fancy dancer Supaman, Juno Award winning singer/songwriter Leela Gilday, traditional Anishnawbek artists Black Bull Moose Singers, and more. Rising young choreographer Brian Solomon performs The NDN Way. Contributors to the new book of essays In This Together lead a collective conversation on truth and reconciliation. Participate in all-ages art-making by Red Pepper Spectacle Arts, and much more. Presented by Fort York and the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation.
